Thai Massage for Elephants
Sat, Mar 24
FREE or by optional donation for the elephants
Receive the free registration link when you post a photo of yourself and an elephant socially, tagging #bluelotuselephant! You don’t need to be buddies with a real pachyderm! You might be surprised how many elephants are around – be creative! Draw an elephant, find a political cartoon, do you have a t-shirt with an elephant? A stuffed animal hiding in your closet? Any elephant rendition will work! Donations are accepted but not expected. 100% of donations will go directly to the Elephant Nature Park, outside of Chiang Mai, Thailand.
The workshop is for humans. The donations benefit the elephants. Embark on a journey into the heart of bodywork as it is practiced in Thailand, and explore how it is connected to western massage therapy modalities. There will be a strong focus on mindfulness, flowing movement, and the use of forearms and elbows to release tension. The class will be conducted on Thai mats on the ground. You will be crawling, rolling, and in general, joyfully hanging out on the floor.
If you choose to make a donation, please include “BLUELOTUS” as a special instruction to the seller. The Elephant Nature Park accepts US tax deductible donations via serengetiusa.com/donate for causes listed under elephantnaturepark.org/how-you-can-help.
Paul has been teaching this course since 2003 and has been practicing Thai bodywork since 1999. Students have the opportunity to hear stories from Paul’s yearly trips to Thailand as he shares a clear understanding of body mechanics and energetic connections. Paul brings a sense of humor to his teachings that keeps the class fun and informative. Light-bulb moments are guaranteed!
